Systems Technology Inc. (STI) seeks a Principal Research Engineer to lead highly specialized modeling, simulation and flight control work, pursue government and commercial opportunities, and mentor staff. You will manage contracts, budgets, and technical teams while shaping strategic direction and new IP development.

The role reports to the Director of Engineering Services and focuses on advancing SBIR programs and enterprise-wide technical initiatives. A strong aerospace background is essential.

Qualifications

• BS and MS in Engineering with 10+ years or PhD with 5+ years in a related field
• Proven ability in Modeling & Simulation, dynamics and controls theory

Responsibilities

• Define top level technical direction aligned with company vision
• Lead BD areas with Engineering Management
• Serve as PI on commercial and government programs (Modeling/Simulation/GNC)
• Develop new IP and oversee SBIR beyond Phase II
• Manage multiple contracts, budgets, deliverables and engineers
• Develop test protocols, analyze data, and generate detailed reports
• Oversee projects within schedule and budget constraints
