Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Carbon R&D Department, reporting to the Director of Carbon Engineering. This role demands strong communication, technical leadership, and program management across from production floor to executive management.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of Engineering departmental supervision.
  • Experience with TRL maturation and technology roadmaps
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong networking experience to marshal resources
  • Experience managing multiple aspects of multiple R&D projects, including the development and management of program plans, schedules and budgets, while maintaining strong technical involvement with each project.

Collins Aerospace, Landing Systems, Carbon Engineering is looking for an Senior Manager, to manage the Carbon R&D Department. This is an exciting and critical position that requires strong communication, technical and project management skills with a high-level of engagement and vision. The position reports directly to the Director of Carbon Engineering and will interface with personnel from the production floor to the Landing Systems Executive management team.

  • MS/PhD in Chemical, Ceramics, Aerospace, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering

  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and formal root cause and corrective action (RCCA) experience.
  • AI and/or data analytics experience
  • High-temperature composite development and manufacturing experience
  • SAP/MES transactional experience
  • Working knowledge of advanced material characterization tools/techniques.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
