Job summary

RTX’s Advanced Structures team in Jacksonville is seeking engineers to design and plan layouts for assembly and materials handling. You will document sequences, guide tooling requirements, and optimize processes to reduce waste while ensuring safety and quality.

The role involves leadership on build issues and close collaboration with Operations and EH&S. Candidates should have a STEM degree with limited experience and the ability to pursue DoD security clearance in the future.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
• Must be able to obtain DoD security clearance in the future opportunities.

• Designs and plans layout for assembly and materials handling.
• Plans and documents sequence of operations and specification procedures for fabrication tools and equipment.
• Provides guidance regarding design concepts and specification requirements to optimize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Plans the sequence of operations for fabrication tools to ensure excellent product performance.
• Adapts machine and equipment designs to factory and production standards.
• Conducts detailed design work focused on the layout of assembly and materials handling operations.
• Improves production methods, driving waste from existing programs.

What You Will Do:

Qualifications You Must Have:

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience in writing standard work instructions/SOP's
• Prior experience with fiberglass/carbon fiber/rubber is preferred
• Experience with mechanical fabrication/assembly is preferred
• Experience with the design, layout, and troubleshooting of manufacturing cells
• Process improvement experience is preferred
• Prior CAD experience

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
