Job summary
Northwestern University is seeking a Senior Research Facility Data Management Engineer in Evanston, IL. Qualifications
- Education: four-year degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience with complex technical environments, especially in research computing or data-intensive settings.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and improve secure, scalable research data workflows for core facilities and centers.
- Lead discovery and requirements with researchers and IT partners to translate needs into practical solutions.
- Identify recurring needs and contribute to reusable service models, standards, and best practices.
- Develop proof-of-concept solutions and evaluate options for secure data transfer and storage workflows.
- Create user documentation, diagrams, onboarding resources, and training materials.
- Coordinate work across research computing, endpoint management, cybersecurity, networking, and storage teams.
- Lead technical work through influence and cross-functional collaboration to reach practical outcomes.
