Senior Research Associate - Bioanalytical

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Research Associate in the Bioanalytical department. The qualified candidate will be a critical member of the team, developing and optimizing analytical methods and performing bioanalytical work to screen chemical entities for new drug candidates. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a core discovery group in a successful biopharmaceutical company, contributing to bringing drugs from concept to clinic.

Pay Range

This range is provided by Protagonist Therapeutics. Your actual pay will depend on your skills and experience. The base pay range at the start of employment is expected to be between $110,000 and $120,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as HPLC, mass spectrometers, etc.
• Prepare reagents, calibration standards, QCs, standard curves, and samples for analysis.
• Develop, optimize, and execute analytical methods.
• Perform assays like ELISA to support pharmacodynamics and efficacy studies.
• Collaborate with the Bioanalytical team to ensure supplies are adequate.
• Maintain detailed experimental records.
• Communicate results effectively within the team and cross-functionally.
• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols.

Qualifications

• BS in chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering, or related fields with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience operating analytical instruments including HPLC, mass spectrometers, and data analysis software.
• Knowledge of chromatography and analytical separation techniques.
• Ability to follow SOPs and optimize methods.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively.
• Excellent communication skills.
