Job summary

Broward College is seeking a Senior Research Associate to collect, organize, and analyze data about the college and external environment. You will prepare reports and materials outlining research results for stakeholders.

The role requires 4–6 years of experience in academic research, proficiency with SPSS/SAS/STATA and SQL/Access, and strong analysis, writing, and project management skills. This on‑site position offers formal benefits and growth opportunities within Institutional Research.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in social/behavioral science, statistics, economics, educational administration, or other research‑oriented field.
  • Four to six years of directly related experience, preferably within higher education, with a primary focus on research projects and data reporting.
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, STATA) and database software (e.g., SQL, SAS, Access, Paradox).
  • Experience with both quantitative and qualitative data strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, strong analytical skills, excellent report writing, communication, and project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, statistical analysis tools, and BI tools such as Enterprise Miner.

  • Design research projects and identify appropriate tools for data collection, conducting needs assessment to optimize research outcomes.
  • Participate in internal and external committees related to institutional research issues.
  • Assist in coordination of state and federal reporting to ensure timeliness and accuracy, remaining in compliance with college, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing data on any aspect of the college or the external environment as requested. It prepares reports, documentation, and related presentation materials outlining research results.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily analysis (35%) to identify trends, verify data validity, and provide data to end‑users through in‑depth longitudinal and cross‑sectional studies.
  • Create and maintain quality databases by extracting data from a wide variety of sources, assessing data quality, performing data management, and loading into a database for analysis and peer comparisons (15%).
  • Disseminate research results by writing analysis, data tables, and graphics for in‑person presentations, written reports, and web‑based presentations (15%).
  • Design research projects and identify appropriate tools for data collection, conducting needs assessment to optimize research outcomes (15%).
  • Participate in internal and external committees related to institutional research issues (5%).
