The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) seeks a Senior Research Advisor to advance quantitative research on maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity. You will lead analyses of large administrative datasets and guide methodological rigor across projects.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of the Research and Evaluation Unit, you will translate findings into actionable program and policy recommendations, drafting manuscripts for peer‑reviewed venues while collaborating with

• Ph.D. in Epidemiology, Public Health, Social Sciences, or related quantitative field.
• Senior level epidemiologist with at least 15 years of experience.
• Experience as Principal Investigator on public health studies and independent research.
• Expertise in causal inference, machine learning techniques, and advanced longitudinal analysis.
• Experience in maternal health research (mortality or severe maternal morbidity).
• Substantive publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Knowledge of health equity and structural racism and its influence on research.

Responsabilidades

• Take required DOHMH CITI training online courses.
• Receive orientation to research datasets.
• Sign and submit confidentiality forms.
• Provide guidance on epidemiological literature to frame and interpret research.
• Assist in development of research questions.
• Conduct analyses and develop manuscripts with staff; mentor researchers in design and statistics.
• Other duties to support department goals.
