Job summary

Madison Gas and Electric seeks a Senior Engineer Renewable Engineering to ensure reliable operation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of its solar generation facilities in Madison, WI. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related engineering discipline; Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation, monitoring, maintenance, and performance assessment of MGE-owned solar generation facilities.
• Lead technical troubleshooting, problem solving, and root cause analysis across electrical, mechanical, communications, control, and software systems.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs, PV system standards, operating procedures, and emergency response procedures.
• Analyze performance data to identify reliability risks and opportunities to improve asset performance and lifecycle value.
• Oversee contractors, service providers, and maintenance vendors, including performance, safety, and documentation.
• Coordinate equipment inventory, spare parts needs, maintenance records, and asset information.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, engineering, and operational requirements.
• Coordinate outages, maintenance activities, asset upgrades, and stakeholder communications across functions.
• Provide technical guidance on solar generation, DERs, and asset performance.
• Support wind and EV charging maintenance engineering and improve asset management through performance evaluation.
