Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a senior Zero Trust Lead (Network) to drive the design, implementation, and operation of Zero Trust across identity, device posture, network, cloud, and security domains. The role combines policy definition with hands-on network engineering and incident support, reporting to cross-functional leadership and ensuring production readiness.

Qualifications

• Senior-level hands-on enterprise network engineering/operations experience.
• Experience designing, implementing, and operating Zero Trust across identity, device posture, network, cloud, and security controls.
• Leadership capable of guiding cross-functional teams and defining standards/roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Own Zero Trust strategy and cross-tower integration model across identity, device, network, cloud, and security domains.
• Provide hands-on network operations support, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Cisco LAN/WAN.
• Define Zero Trust requirements for firewall controls, identity-aware enforcement, and integration with Zscaler and identity controls.
• Lead Zero Trust requirements for ZIA/ZPA, Client Connector, and posture integration across identity and network controls.
• Advance Zero Trust principles with continuous monitoring, segmentation, and least privilege across the environment.
• Coordinate with Network Operations, IAM, Cloud/Infra, and Security teams to translate requirements into operational controls.
• Lead architecture reviews, identify gaps, and ensure tests and documentation before production handoff.
• Assist during high-impact incidents involving access controls or cross-domain dependencies.
