Job summary

CTG is seeking a Mainframe Automation/NetView Engineer to administer NetView for z/OS, design automation, and manage event-driven workflows. The role requires 7+ years with IBM z/OS and 5+ years in NetView administration, plus hands-on automation with REXX/CLIST and CMDLISTs.

Onsite three days weekly in Chandler/PHX, AZ; Plano, TX; or Charlotte, NC, with relocation possible. Candidate must be US-based with work authorization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IBM z/OS experience.
• 5+ years of NetView administration and automation.
• Proven automation using REXX, CLIST, and NetView.
• Experience designing event-driven automation.
• Experience supporting large enterprise mainframes.
• Knowledge of RACF/security controls preferred.
• US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain IBM NetView for z/OS environments.
• Configure and support NetView automation infrastructure, definitions, policies, and controls.
• Monitor NetView performance, availability, and operational effectiveness.
• Support highly available enterprise mainframe environments.
• Design and develop automation using REXX, CLIST, and CMDLISTs.
• Develop automated recovery procedures and workflows.
• Create reusable automation frameworks to improve efficiency.
• Implement and maintain event-driven and message-based automation.
• Configure NetView AUTOTBL and develop message-processing rules.
• Implement automated notification and escalation processes.
• Proactive monitoring and incident alerting solutions.
• Participate in production support and incident resolution.
• Root cause analysis for infra and automation failures.
• Develop automation to improve resiliency and minimize operator intervention.
• Integrate NetView automation with z/OS Communications Server, VTAM, TCP/IP, OMEGAMON.
• Support automation across Sysplex environments.
• Collaborate with operations, network, security, and systems programming teams.
