About the Role

Our client, a leading multinational corporation, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead remote IT infrastructure projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional based anywhere in South Africa, including areas like Upington, Northern Cape , to manage critical infrastructure deployments and upgrades from a remote location. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex IT infrastructure initiatives, ensuring seamless operations and robust system performance. This role demands strong leadership in managing virtual teams and maintaining effective communication across distributed stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of IT infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, server deployments, cloud migrations, and data center management.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams of IT professionals, engineers, and vendors in a remote setting.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
• Implement and manage project execution, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and best practices.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies within a distributed environment.
• Oversee procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiations for infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, with a significant focus on IT infrastructure projects (networking, servers, cloud, data centers).
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex IT infrastructure projects, preferably in a remote or distributed team environment.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure technologies, project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), and IT service management (ITSM).
• Exceptional remote leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with remote collaboration tools and project management software.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, or relevant infrastructure certifications are highly desirable.
• Ability to manage projects autonomously and effectively coordinate remote teams, working from locations such as Upington, Northern Cape .
