Job summary

Real REMAX Group, Nasdaq: REAX, is hiring a Privacy and Data Protection Counsel to join our Legal team. This fully remote role partners with product and engineering to guide privacy, data security, and regulatory compliance across the product lifecycle for a fintech-focused platform.

You will draft and negotiate commercial agreements, oversee data governance and retention, and ensure vendor compliance with privacy requirements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a product counsel role in a law firm or in-house.
• Experience in regulatory compliance in a corporate setting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Counsel product, marketing, and business teams on applicable legal requirements.
• Identify regulatory risks and propose effective mitigations.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements in support of business initiatives.
• Create and enforce data privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Oversee data governance, data mapping, and retention policies.
• Ensure vendors comply with privacy and security requirements.
• Stay up-to-date on relevant consumer protection laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with Marketing to ensure compliant consumer-facing materials.
