Job summary

The Chemours Company is seeking a Materials Engineer with a background in non-metallic materials to provide consulting across Chemours' global chemical businesses, including technical support to plant operations, capital projects and R&D. You will lead materials decisions for project execution, coordinate with external vendors, summarize complex technical ideas, and prepare inspection and design reports.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering with demonstrated background in non-metallic materials OR Polymer, Chemical, or Materials Engineering with a heavy emphasis on engineering mechanics.
• 5–10 years of experience in Chemical Process or related industries with involvement in multiple fabrication phases of non-metallic materials.
• Experience with design, fabrication, and project process flow for obtaining newly fabricated non-metallic equipment or repair/replacement of existing non-metallic equipment.
• Comfortable working in a team environment; initiative and self-motivation; ability to drive projects forward quickly and safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide consulting services to Chemours global chemical businesses in non-metallic materials engineering and related technologies, including technical support to plant operations, capital projects and R&D.
• Assist in materials selection (fiberglass, elastomers, graphite, glass and polymers) and provide technical training.
• Operate as the Materials lead for project execution; coordinate with external vendors for design, fabrication and repairs.
• Prepare technical reports on assigned tasks; review specifications and inspection reports during fabrication and operation.
• Network with internal teams and external vendors; participate in ASME and MTI activities.
