The attorney will manage asbestos and toxic tort defense matters across Illinois and the St. Louis metro area, contributing to the regional practice without needing a portable book of business.

The role emphasizes strong advocacy, deposition expertise, and autonomous case management, with supervision of junior staff and ongoing client communication.

Qualifications

• Strong written and oral advocacy skills with motion practice experience.
• Significant, hands-on deposition experience.
• Proven ability to independently manage a full caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage asbestos and toxic tort defense matters from inception through trial and resolution.
• Draft pleadings and dispositive motions; conduct written discovery.
• Attend court hearings and manage depositions of fact witnesses and experts.
• Develop case strategy in coordination with partners and clients; supervise junior attorneys and staff.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide timely reporting.
