Job summary

Parry Labs is seeking a Senior System Reliability and Safety Engineer to ensure the reliability, availability and maintainability of defense systems. You will lead RAM analyses using FMECA, FTA, and RBD, and perform MTBF and LCC evaluations across hardware and software lifecycles.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, test plans, and risk mitigation strategies, while developing safety plans and maintaining safety documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Reliability Engineer, preferably in the defense industry.
• 5+ years of experience in system safety engineering in the DoD industry.
• Strong knowledge of RAM modeling techniques (FMECA, FTA, and RBD).
• Experience with MTBF and LCC analysis.
• Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-217F, MIL-STD-1629, and other defense standards.
• Experience with hardware and software safety engineering.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and related safety standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; data analysis.
• Strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• US Citizenship or ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform RAM analysis for defense systems, components, and equipment.
• Develop RAM modeling techniques (FMECA, FTA, RBD) and MBSE integration.
• Conduct reliability predictions (MTBF) and Life Cycle Cost analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate requirements and test plans.
• Provide recommendations for design improvements to enhance reliability and safety.
• Conduct reliability testing and analyze data to identify improvements.
• Perform safety analyses and risk assessments; mitigate safety hazards.
• Develop safety plans and policies per industry standards.
• Monitor system reliability metrics and report to stakeholders.
• Document RAM, Safety, and Requirements artifacts.
• Mentor junior engineers and share safety practices.
