Job summary

Niron Magnetics in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead reliability tests for Niron magnets, focusing on mechanical, thermal and corrosion assessments aligned with ASTM standards.

The role requires hands-on lab work, cross-functional collaboration, and strong data analysis skills using JMP or Minitab; you’ll drive test plans, PPAP documentation, and continuous improvement across R&D, manufacturing and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, quality engineering, or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of ASTM standards and reliability testing methodologies.
• Experience with statistical analysis using JMP, Minitab, or similar tools.
• Experience with Design for Reliability (DfR) principles and tools.
• Working knowledge of PPAP, control plans, and FMEA.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Comfortable working hands-on in a lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Reliability Test Development & Qualification: Develop and qualify reliability test protocols.
• Reliability control plan ownership: Coordinate and improve reliability control plan.
• Statistical Analysis & Modeling: Analyze reliability data to identify trends and failures.
• DfR Application & Methodology: Apply DfR to guide product development.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Support FMEA, CAPA, PPAP with teams.
• Document and communicate findings clearly to all audiences.
• Lab Execution & Stewardship: Hands-on test execution and troubleshooting.
