Job summary

Neon Aero, Inc. seeks a Senior Reliability Test Engineer to define, build, and run reliability/validation tests for complex electromechanical systems. You’ll own test strategy, lab infrastructure, and data-driven decisions to drive design readiness and pre-certification efforts.

You will lead hands-on testing, collaborate with Systems, Mechanical, and Electrical teams, and manage external labs to ensure robust, actionable results that de-risk products before DO-160-like standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in reliability engineering, validation testing, or hardware testing.
• Experience building and executing test strategies for complex electromechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience with test setups, fixtures, and instrumentation.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and environmental stress testing knowledge.
• Experience with external test labs and managing outsourced campaigns.
• Ability to translate requirements into structured test plans with measurable outcomes.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills; hands-on lab work.
• Clear communication and collaboration with Systems, Mechanical, and Electrical teams.

Responsibilities

• Define reliability and validation test strategies for complex electromechanical systems.
• Build and scale internal reliability lab capabilities and data pipelines.
• Lead execution of reliability tests on prototype hardware.
• Manage external test vendors and ensure data validity and traceability.
• Analyze test data to quantify margins, trends, and risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate designs against requirements.
• Support pre-certification readiness and contribute to risk assessments.
