Job summary

CenterPoint Energy in Texas is seeking a self-directed Reliability Consultant to improve distribution system performance and reduce outages through analysis of outages and mitigation of reliability risks. The role involves evaluating Worst Performing Circuits, field inspections, and coordinating with Operations, Engineering, Planning, and other stakeholders to implement reliability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in construction-related field.
• Five years of project management experience in electric utilities.
• Experience designing overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Ability to ensure compliance with NESC/NEC and related codes.
• Ability to develop and manage construction plans and drawings.
• Strong collaboration with operations, planning, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts with customers to develop business plans.
• Represent the company in service extension negotiations.
• Gather, analyze, and design distribution facilities and loads.
• Lead complex projects and train others.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Provide project management for distribution capital and maintenance.
• Review work orders for accuracy.
• Attend meetings and travel as needed.
