Job summary

TechPro Power Group in Raleigh, NC seeks an experienced Senior Lead Relay Technician to support substation projects across the region. You will perform acceptance testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protective relays in utility-scale systems.

Key duties include relay testing with Doble/Omicron/Megger, setting coordination studies, and documenting test results in compliance with NERC/IEEE standards. Travel to nearby sites and a willingness to work overtime are expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with protective relays in utility-scale transmission or distribution.
• Strong understanding of electromechanical and microprocessor-based relays.
• Proficiency with relay test sets (Doble/Omicron/Megger) and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to analyze relay operations and system events.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protective relays.
• Analyze relay events and fault records to diagnose issues.
• Collaborate with engineers and field teams to implement relay protection upgrades.
