Job summary

Electric Power Systems is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician to act as technical lead for protection and control systems, directing testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and full project execution.

You will manage field teams, interact with customers, and ensure safe, reliable operation of substation and industrial systems. The role emphasizes customer interface, team development, and technical leadership with opportunities for professional certification and career growth.

Qualifications

  • Hands on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in transmission, generation, or distribution level substations.
  • Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies across field activities.
  • Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and other system components; perform testing and commissioning.
  • Perform advanced end-to-end and functional testing using relay test equipment and software.
  • Read and validate protection and control schematics, diagrams, and configurations.
  • Develop project execution plans, outage sequences, and energization plans.
  • Coordinate resources, schedules, and field activities to ensure project completion.
