Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Relay Field Technician III to execute commissioning and testing of protection & control schemes for electric utility substations, including IEDs, SCADA and related media. This role involves field work, travel to client sites in the Dulles, VA area, and potential relocation support.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in relay testing, a technical degree in Electrical Power & Controls or Electrical Engineering, and proficiency with test equipment like Doble 6150, Omicron, and

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or military equivalent in Electrical Power & Controls or Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years in relay testing and commissioning in substations.
• Experience reading One Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents across wiring diagrams and Bills of Material.
• Perform end-to-end testing and IED testing with test sets.
• Identify risks and develop test plans and risk assessments.
• Lead tasks and teams on defined projects and conduct weekly site safety inspections.
• Support company and customer policies and procedures.
