Job summary

MassMutual is seeking an Actuary to join the Reinsurance Development Team within Corporate Actuarial in Boston or Springfield. The role covers all reinsurance aspects and requires building analytics to assess current and projected performance while partnering with internal and external stakeholders.

The team manages traditional and financial reinsurance solutions and collaborates with pricing, valuation and risk management to inform strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; ASA strongly preferred as part of professional credentialing.
• Professional financial experience with 5 years in life/health/annuity insurance.
• Strong analytical, strategic and communication skills; ability to manage time and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise as the modeling lead for regular reporting and ad-hoc analysis.
• Develop an analytics framework on inforce reinsurance arrangements; assess performance and cash flows; present to management.
• Collaborate with reinsurance administration, valuation and product pricing teams.
• Coordinate with Product, Pricing and Assumption Oversight to ensure adequacy of assumptions and strategies.
• Attend strategy meetings with senior leadership and external reinsurance counterparts.
