Job summary

MassMutual seeks an Actuary to join the Reinsurance Development Team within Corporate Actuarial. Based in Boston or Springfield, this role covers all aspects of reinsurance and leads analytics to understand current and projected performance, partnering with internal and external stakeholders.

The position emphasizes developing an analytics framework for inforce reinsurance, assessing cash flows with each reinsurer, and presenting findings to management to guide strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• ASA credential is required or preferred.
• 5+ years of life/health/annuity insurance experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical actuarial modeling leadership for regular and ad-hoc analyses.
• Help manage reinsurance across life, health, and annuity lines, balancing profitability, risk, and exposures.
• Develop analytics framework to assess inforce reinsurance performance and cash flows with each reinsurer.
• Collaborate with pricing, assumption oversight, valuation, and product teams to ensure sound strategies.
• Present insights to management to inform strategy decisions on reinsurance arrangements.
• Attend strategy meetings with senior leadership and external reinsurance counterparts.
