Job summary

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Education, Division of Workforce Innovation, Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, seeks a Senior Rehabilitation Counselor to supervise casework and provide technical assistance to counselors in a Regional Office. The role includes mentoring, developing employment plans, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 1.5 years of experience OR 5.5 years of education/experience after high school.
• Fields include Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Disability Studies, Human Relations, Social Work, Human Services, Special Education, Vocational Guidance.
• Valid driver's license and/or transportation for statewide travel.

Responsibilities

• Manage a sizable caseload to ensure timely services and meet rehabilitation goals.
• Mentor new counselors with training on federal rules and regulations.
• Develop eligibility determinations and countersign eligibility documentation.
• Develop Individual Plans for Employment and countersign plans.
• Provide consultation and support to subordinate counselors with challenging cases.
• Develop functional profiles to determine rehabilitation needs and eligibility decisions.
• Implement individual plans following state and federal regulations.
