The incumbent will conduct inspections, investigate complaints, and manage enforcement actions while maintaining records in CARES and EHD databases. Requires daily in-office and field work and driving within Sarasota County.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of childcare homes and facilities to ensure compliance with Florida statutes, rules, and licensing standards.
• Investigate complaints involving licensed childcare providers and suspected illegal operations.
• Process initial and renewal licensing applications, reviewing background screenings and training.
• Provide technical assistance to childcare providers to promote compliance with licensing requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable statutes, rules, policies and resources.
• Use program systems and databases to perform duties accurately.
• Respond to inquiries from providers, parents, and the public in a timely, professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Environmental Health Director.
