Job summary

The Washington Trust Company is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join its Corporate Financial Accounting and Reporting team in Rhode Island. The role focuses on regulatory reporting, including FFIEC Call Reports and Bank Holding Company filings, with emphasis on accuracy, documentation, and timely submissions.

The candidate will serve as a subject matter expert for regulatory reporting, help document and improve processes, and support internal and external audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience preparing FFIEC Call Reports and Bank Holding Company reports.
• Experience with regulatory reporting software and Excel-based analytics.
• Strong understanding of accounting guidance and regulatory requirements.
• Experience communicating with regulators and auditors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file quarterly Call Reports and Bank Holding Company reports within deadlines.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting process and supporting schedules.
• Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and implement changes to processes.
• Research regulatory instructions and document methodologies.
• Assist with inquiries from regulators and auditors.
• Perform reconciliations between regulatory reports and general ledger.
• Support internal management reports and analyses.
• Lead process improvements and automation to strengthen controls.
