Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital in Ohio is seeking a Sr. RBT to implement behavioral interventions for children with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual developmental disability.

You will collect data, probe treatment strategies, and manage materials while working under the supervision of a Psychologist and a Behavior Analyst. You will contribute to day treatment services, participate in planning meetings, and provide training support to Registered Behavior Technicians.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in psychology, special education, speech or language, or related field.
  • Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or ability to gain within first 90 days.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and auto insurance; able to pass background checks and driving qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Implements behavioral interventions defined by analysts in areas of communication, play, social, adaptive, coping, and problem behaviour reduction.
  • Supports, provides intervention, and acts as liaison to patients in home, school, and community settings.
  • Participates in and supports meetings to clarify and update the client's intervention plan; collects data and completes documentation.
  • Provides training and feedback to Registered Behavior Technicians as needed.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and contributes to treatment planning and program development.

Guided by a Psychologist and Behavior Analyst, you'll ensure these interventions are executed accurately. You'll collect data, probe treatment strategies, and manage materials while providing functional analyses, behavioral assessments, and day treatment services. Job Description Summary:

Provides and ensures the accurate implementation of the behavioral intervention services for patients diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder and intellectual developmental disability. Collects and analyses data, probes treatment strategies, and manages materials.

Job Description: Essential Functions:

Implements behavioral intervention and therapeutic procedures defined by behavior analysts in areas of communication, play, social, adaptive, coping, problem behaviour reduction, pre-employment skills and other skills. Supports, provides intervention, and serves as a liaison to patients in home, school, and community settings. Participates in and supports meetings to clarify and update the client's intervention plan. Implements probes and provides input for the intervention plan. Collects data related to all therapy activities and complete clinical documentation as directed. Supports Registered Behavior Technicians through training and feedback.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree in psychology, special education, speech or language, or related field, required.

Licensure Requirement:

Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Certifications:

Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician or ability to gain certification within first 90 days of employment, required. Certification in Marcus Crisis Prevention Program safety training and other safety protocols within 60 days of employment, required.

Skills:

Effective problem solving skills for when novel or challenging situations arise.

Experience:

Experience as a Registered Behavior Technician or similar position, required. Experience working with children, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

OCCASIONALLY: Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Climb stairs/ladder, Flexing/extending of neck, Loud Noises, Pushing / Pulling: 41-60 lbs, Reaching above shoulder, Working Outdoors FREQUENTLY: Bend/twist, Computer skills, Driving motor vehicles (work required) *additional testing may be required, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Interpreting Data, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 21-40 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 26-40 lbs, Repetitive hand/arm use, Squat/kneel, Walking CONTINUOUSLY: Audible speech, Color vision, Decision Making, Depth perception, Hearing acuity, Peripheral vision, Problem solving, Seeing - Far/near, Sitting, Standing Additional Physical Requirements performed but not listed above: Implementing MCPP and safety protocol strategies. Talk on phone/in person Manage physical resistance in a child up to 14 years of age Swimming (occasionally)
