CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. You will lead complex substation projects, mentor staff, and drive business growth while ensuring quality and client satisfaction.

The role requires 15+ years of experience, PE license, and strong expertise in protection and control systems, relaying, SCADA, and power system analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
• 15 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, delivery, and technical execution of high-voltage substation protection and control projects.
• Serve as a technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, automation, and substation communications.
• Develop, review, and approve protection and control engineering deliverables (schematics, wiring diagrams, relay settings, panel layouts).
• Lead power system studies, protection coordination, equipment selection, and related analyses.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, utility standards, and CDM Smith procedures.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for project delivery, commissioning, testing, startup activities.
• Drive technical excellence through reviews, standards development, and continuous improvement.
