B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group is seeking an Area Director of Catering Sales to lead catering sales for Crowne Plaza Crystal City and Holiday Inn National Airport, reporting to Area Director of Sales.

The role targets expanding catering and event bookings as meeting space grows, driving revenue, and identifying new opportunities. Ideal candidates have solid catering sales background, market savvy, and the ability to accelerate bookings while aligning with company standards and training.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of catering sales experience required; 1 year managing direct reports preferred.
• Heavy emphasis in sales with knowledge of food and beverage operations.
• Detail oriented with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Sales/Revenue Maximization: achieve catering revenue goals through food, beverage, room rental and A/V sales, proactive calls and up-selling.
• Cost Control: manage catering expenses, labor, and budgets to maximize profitability.
• People Management: interview, hire, coach, and develop catering sales staff.
• Guest Service: ensure client satisfaction, timely responses, and service recovery when needed.
• Technical Acumen: use sales tools and Delphi to identify, forecast and report sales data.
• Training: provide ongoing training and maintain training records for staff.
• Safety/Risk Management: ensure compliant operations and safe work environment.
• Self/Workload Management: communicate effectively, plan proactively, and participate in meetings.
