Job summary

Trane Technologies, a world leader in sustainable climate solutions, seeks a Senior Refrigeration Systems Engineer in North Carolina. You will design and validate air- and water-cooled chillers, build performance models and support product development teams.

Responsibilities include developing subsystems to meet performance and cost targets, executing validation plans, and applying data analytics to lab and plant data. Strong refrigeration expertise required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in engineering and at least 5 years in refrigeration system/subsystem design.
• Proven history of contributing to new technology and new product development (NPD) projects to improve function, reliability or cost.

Responsibilities

• Develop refrigeration subsystems to meet unit performance goals, regulatory requirements and cost targets.
• Develop and execute product validation test plans.
• Create and calibrate product performance models using test data.
• Support product regulatory compliance certification testing.
• Design and physics modeling with HVAC products and components (compressors, heat exchangers, fans, controls, etc.).
• Make decisions using data and models.
• Apply data analytics tools to lab and factory performance data.
• Apply heat transfer and fluid flow concepts to solve problems.
