Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Senior Refrigeration Engineer to join our Industrial and Advanced Manufacturing Division in the United States.

You will lead planning, analysis, and delivery of safe, energy‑efficient refrigeration systems for facilities, renovations, and assessments, acting as technical lead and trusted advisor to clients. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, design cold rooms, duty equipment, perform heat/mass balances, prepare specs and drawings, and mentor junior

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
PE License required.
10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in industrial refrigeration system design.
Ability to lead refrigeration design efforts and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit; strong engineering calculations and documentation.

Responsibilities

Lead refrigeration engineering from proposals to commissioning support.
Design cold rooms, freezer rooms, blast freezers, and related facilities.
Calculate loads, heat/mass balances, thermodynamic cycles, and system efficiency.
Prepare datasheets, specifications, equipment schedules, costs, and tender docs.
Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and system diagrams.
Create construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
Develop refrigeration plant control philosophies and automation requirements.
Mentor junior engineers and manage resources.
Build client relationships and manage project schedules and budgets.
