Job summary

Matrix Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Process Engineer specializing in refining to work from our Maumee, OH office. The role emphasizes project execution, process improvements, and growth through existing refinery relationships in Northwest Ohio.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oil & gas refining, lead or support multidisciplinary projects, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years in oil and gas, refinery operations or projects.
• Strong working relationships with refineries in Northwest Ohio.
• Excellent communication and client-focused mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Engage with plant personnel, clients, and stakeholders to understand operational needs and identify project opportunities.
• Leverage existing relationships at Northwest Ohio refineries to support strategic business development and expand client accounts.
• Conduct site visits, feasibility studies, and process evaluations to support client goals and safety compliance.
• Lead or support engineering projects in refining, including process improvements, retrofits, debottlenecking, and new unit designs.
• Collaborate with internal multi-discipline teams including mechanical, electrical, and automation engineers.
• Support process safety efforts including HAZOPs, PHA facilitation, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and industry insights to support professional development.
