Job summary

Coastal Elite Pro in Norfolk, VA, is seeking an experienced Reefer Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair refrigeration units on trucks, trailers, and shipping containers.

You will diagnose control boards, replace compressors, and overhaul evaporator/condenser systems while performing advanced diagnostics and ensuring accurate service records. The role requires federal certifications, a valid driver’s license, and readiness to work weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 608 certification required.
• EPA certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Must provide mechanic tools and complete required safety and driving certifications.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose control board failures.
• Replace compressors.
• Repair evaporator and condenser systems.
• Perform advanced diagnostics.
• Replace sensors and electrical components.
• Analyze refrigeration performance.
• Oversee major repairs.
• Assist with warranty support.
• Maintain accurate service records.
