Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Reefer Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair refrigeration units on trucks, trailers, or shipping containers. You will diagnose faults, recharge refrigerant, and ensure proper temperatures while coordinating with drivers and warehouse staff.

The role requires 7+ years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, 608 certification, EPA credentials, and a toolbox of essential mechanic tools. Weekend/work hours and overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required.
• 608 certification required.
• 7+ years in a related field.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Must provide and maintain essential mechanic tools and toolbox for daily tasks.
• SpartanNash certification for safe driving skills training provided (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex refrigeration problems on trailers and trucks.
• Replace compressors and repair evaporator/condenser systems.
• Perform advanced refrigeration diagnostics and sensor/electrical component replacements.
• Analyze fleet refrigeration performance and document repairs.
• Train technicians and oversee major refrigeration repairs.
• Assist with warranty repairs and manufacturer support.
• Assist with fleet maintenance planning and maintain service records.
