Job summary

The City of Aurora’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Department is seeking a dynamic supervisor to manage recreation programs for older adults. You will plan, schedule and evaluate classes, events and activities across city facilities, and lead instructors and staff to deliver high-quality programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Recreation (or related field) required.
• 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in Recreation Management or related field.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• Knowledge of recreation management software and data reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and schedules instructors, volunteers, and other part-time staff.
• Recruitment, training, evaluations and discipline of staff/instructors.
• Plan, organize, and promote recreation classes, activities, and events for older adults.
• Establish contacts with community groups to increase participation.
• Maintain program records including financial, attendance, and registrations.
• Collaborate with staff on customer service, safety policies and program development.
• Solicit patron input through surveys, meetings, and direct contact.
• Submit timely reports and operate within approved budgets.
• Update city website content and act as web contact contributor.
