As the Senior Recreation Advisor, you will coordinate daily activities, develop evening programs, and manage schedules while ensuring a safe, welcoming environment and strong student outcomes. A valid NY driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of related experience working with youth.
• Must have valid in-state driver's license and be insurable.
• Strong leadership, organization, communication, and program-planning skills.
• Able to work with students aged 16-24 and staff across departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of recreation program aligned to student interests and wellness.
• Develop and implement engaging recreation and leadership programs.
• Create and post weekly/monthly recreation schedules.
• Supervise recreation staff and coordinate coverage for safe activities.
• Partner with CPP, Social Development, Center staff, and community resources to expand opportunities.

Contract: Full-Time

Schedule: Friday 3pm-12am, Saturday-Monday 1pm-10pm, Tuesday 3pm-12am / Wednesday & Thursday off

Description

Delaware Valley Job Corps is an education and training center located in beautiful Callicoon, NY. We operate with student-focused programs to ensure successful training and employment placement for each individual we serve. As a Senior Recreation Advisor, you'll lead engaging recreation programs that keep students active, build leadership skills, and create a positive community. You'll supervise recreation activities and staff while helping students develop confidence, healthy habits, and meaningful connections.

Job Duties

• Oversee the daily operation of a diverse recreation program designed around student interests and wellness.
• Develop and implement engaging recreation, leadership, and evening programs.
• Create and post weekly and monthly recreation schedules.
• Supervise recreation staff and coordinate coverage to ensure students have safe, well-supervised activities.
• Partner with CPP, Social Development, Center staff, and community resources to expand recreation opportunities.
• Promote health, wellness, positive behavior, and the development of Career Success Standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming recreation environment.
• Track student participation and maintain accurate documentation.
• Manage recreation equipment and supplies, including inventory, maintenance, and purchase recommendations.
• Provide positive leadership and hold students accountable while creating an environment where they can thrive.
• Provide transportation and other operational support as needed.
• Work collaboratively with staff across the Center to support student success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of related experience working with youth required.
• Valid in-State Driver's License required and ability to meet Company insurability requirements.
• Strong leadership, organization, communication, and program-planning skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students ages 16-24 and staff across multiple departments.
• This position requires the ability to sit, stand, climb, walk, lift, pull/push, carry, reach, stoop, and crouch.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds and/or assess the lift load and request assistance when necessary.
