Adams and Associates, Inc. in Callicoon, NY is seeking a Senior Recreation Advisor to lead recreation programs that engage students ages 16-24, promote leadership, and foster a healthy community. You will supervise staff, coordinate schedules, and ensure safe, welcoming activities.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 1 year of youth experience, valid driver's license, and strong leadership and planning skills; regular evening/weekend hours are included with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of related experience working with youth required.
  • Valid in-State Driver’s License required and ability to meet Company insurability requirements.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and program-planning skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students ages 16-24 and staff across multiple departments.
  • The position requires the ability to sit, stand, climb, walk, lift, pull/push, carry, reach, stoop, and crouch; must be able to lift 40 pounds or assess lift load.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation of a diverse recreation program designed around student interests and wellness.
  • Develop and implement engaging recreation, leadership, and evening programs.
  • Create and post weekly and monthly recreation schedules.
  • Supervise recreation staff and coordinate coverage to ensure students have safe, well-supervised activities.
  • Partner with CPP, Social Development, Center staff, and community resources to expand recreation opportunities.
  • Promote health, wellness, positive behavior, and the development of Career Success Standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming recreation environment.
  • Track student participation and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Manage recreation equipment and supplies, including inventory, maintenance, and purchase recommendations.
  • Provide positive leadership and hold students accountable while creating an environment where they can thrive.
  • Provide transportation and other operational support as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with staff across the Center to support student success.

Schedule: Friday 3pm-12am, Saturday-Monday 1pm-10pm, Tuesday 3pm-12am / Wednesday & Thursday off

Delaware Valley Job Corps is an education and training center located in beautiful Callicoon, NY. We operate with student-focused programs to ensure successful training and employment placement for each individual we serve.

As a Senior Recreation Advisor, you’ll lead engaging recreation programs that keep students active, build leadership skills, and create a positive community. You’ll supervise recreation activities and staff while helping students develop confidence, healthy habits, and meaningful connections.
