DCS Corporation is seeking a Software Architecture Lead in Sterling Heights, MI to own the VIPERS/VBK software architecture and open interfaces (DDS) for vehicle protection systems on ground platforms. You will coordinate with government and industry developers, drive architectural vision, and lead design reviews.

The role requires strong C/C++, real-time embedded experience on Linux, and familiarity with MOSA, DDS, and DoD requirements.

Qualificações

U.S. citizenship required due to sensitive requirements.
Must be able to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, plus 12+ years in software development including architecture roles.
Strong C/C++ knowledge with real-time and embedded software on Linux; Windows development experience.
Experience defining architectures and interfaces for medium-to high-complexity hardware/software systems.
Experience with middleware and IPC such as DDS, gRPC, Protocol Buffers.
Experience with UML and/or SysML.
Familiarity with DoD requirements documents and formal software verification.
Software lifecycle processes: configuration management, peer review, formal verification.
Self-starter who can work independently and in a team for vehicle system integration.
Excellent technical, written, and verbal communication; strong interpersonal skills.
Customer service orientation for government customers in high-visibility role.
Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking.

Responsabilidades

Define, document, and maintain VIPERS/VBK software architecture and interfaces.
Define MOSA-based open interfaces (DDS) for government, OEM, and third-party developers.
Interface with government, OEMs, and SMEs to identify and trace requirements.
Mentor development teams to follow architectural vision.
Lead hardware/software design reviews with stakeholders.
Enforce coding standards and cybersecurity controls to minimize technical debt.
Ensure architecture satisfies MIL-STD-882E safety requirements.
Address timing, latency, fault tolerance, availability, and maintainability.
Support Agile/DevSecOps practices including CI and automated tests.
Assist in test plans, observe tests, analyze results, and recommend improvements.
Review preliminary designs and engineering changes affecting system characteristics.
Ensure components are compatible with host platform and with each other.
Evaluate engineering trade-offs to optimize performance.
Participate in program plans, documentation, schedules, budgets, and milestones.
