Job summary

BrightHire Search Partners is seeking a Senior RF/DSP Software Engineer to design and evolve real-time software for RF signal acquisition, processing, and analysis. You will contribute across features, performance, and system-level design for advanced communication and drone detection equipment.

You will modify existing modules, implement customer-specific capabilities, and support testing to the full system level, while documenting across hardware, software, and systems teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar discipline.
• 7+ years of strong C/C++ development (C++11 or newer ideally). Extensive experience designing, implementing, and testing complex real-time, multithreaded, multitasking, multicore embedded server software.
• Solid understanding of ADCs, RF receiver architectures, and associated quality metrics.
• Hands-on experience with spectrum signal processing algorithms and concepts such as FFT, CCDF, ZIF, DDC, and managing interrupts/data blocks.
• Cross-platform development targeting Linux and Windows.
• Strong grasp of synchronization primitives, queues, task scheduling, TCP/UDP networking, socket-level programming, and TCP message-based client/server communication.
• Real-time hardware control and data acquisition experience.
• Knowledge of signal direction finding / geolocation concepts.
• Xilinx/AMD Zynq, UltraScale+, or FPGA development.
• Familiarity with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to new features, performance improvements, and system-level design to cutting-edge communication and drone detection equipment.
• Modify existing software and build new modules to implement customer-specific and market-facing capabilities, then support testing and analysis up to the full system level.
• Contribute to technical documentation and collaborate across hardware, software, and systems teams.
