Job summary

Heaviside Industries is seeking a highly experienced engineer to architect and ship real-time DSP pipelines for multi-domain RF systems. The role focuses on low-latency angle estimation, time-of-arrival processing, and detector-style calibration across multiple receivers, in support of operating in GPS-denied environments.

You will drive edge compute integration and field verification with production-ready silicon.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years building real-time DSP on hardware in UAVs or radar systems
• Hands-on experience taking phase-coherent multi-channel systems from bench to flying/fielded
• Production-grade experience in fire-control radar, RWR, ESM or RF detection
• Deep knowledge of sum-and-difference angle estimation and calibration discipline
• Real-time tracking filters (alpha-beta, Kalman, IMM) with airframe-pose fusion
• DSP / signal processing with Pulse-Doppler
• Proficiency in GPU-accelerated Python (NumPy/CuPy/CUDA) and C/C++ for RT targets
• Experience with industrial/tactical IMUs and high-stability references (OCXO, CSAC, rubidium)
• Able to obtain/maintain a US Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Architect and ship real-time DSP pipelines on multi-channel RF systems
• Implement low-latency bearing-angle estimation from synchronized data
• Build closed-loop pipeline: time-of-arrival, pulse-train association, and filters
• Calibrate channel stack across receivers in real-time
• Add false-alarm-rate management and interference rejection
• Drive sub-millisecond end-to-end latency to production silicon
• Specify and integrate RF systems, timing-reference, and edge compute
• Conduct bench bring-up, anechoic-chamber, and captive-carry verification campaigns
