Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Simulation and HIL Integration Engineer in Mossville, IL. You will develop high-fidelity machine and sensor models, deploy them on HIL platforms, and lead simulation validation efforts across autonomy teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in control and simulation.
• Desired advanced degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate, and deploy machine models within HIL platforms.
• Configure real-time simulation and HIL platforms (dSPACE).
• Develop virtual validation environments using Omniverse, Isaac Sim/Lab.
• Integrate MATLAB/Simulink models into HIL and simulation setups.
• Create sensor simulations with LiDAR emphasis and virtual testing.
• Deliver validated, real-time capable models and interfaces.
• Analyze networks (CAN, J1939, LIN, Ethernet, TCP/IP) and troubleshoot.
