Caterpillar in Mossville, IL is seeking a Senior Autonomy Validation Engineer to advance the Command for Hauling (CfH) program. You will work with lab-based validation, simulation, and real-time models to ensure machine performance meets release criteria.

Responsibilities include developing validation scenarios, analyzing machine data, and configuring HIL benches while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-ready autonomy solutions.

Qualifications

• Validation, systems integration, or simulation experience.
• Experience with HIL/SIL, test tracks, or field validation.
• Experience analyzing machine performance data and logs.
• Familiarity with V-model, traceability and release readiness.

Responsibilities

• Validate CfH autonomous workflows using L8 HIL benches and simulations.
• Develop and maintain validation scenarios, test cases, and evidence.
• Analyze machine data, logs, and tests to identify performance gaps.
• Support simulation capabilities with real machine data.
• Configure and troubleshoot HIL benches and interfaces.
• Document defects with steps, data, and risk context.
• Communicate validation status and risks to stakeholders.
