Job summary

Blue Origin, based in Seattle, WA, seeks a software engineer to build a high-fidelity hardware emulation framework for spaceflight systems. You will develop drivers, simulations, and real-time tests aligned with flight hardware to accelerate verification and validation.

You will apply C/C++ and Python across embedded software, emulation, and CI/CD workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust emulation and early testing of the TeraWave platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or related technical field.
• 5+ years in embedded software, simulation, or emulation/testing.
• Proficient in C/C++ development.
• Python or similar scripting for test automation.
• RTOS and embedded control systems with APIs, interfaces and drivers.
• Solid understanding of computer architecture (CPU, memory, buses, interrupts).
• Knowledge of Ethernet, Spacewire, CAN, I2C, SPI, or UART.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, team player.
• U.S. citizenship or eligible status.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain real-time hardware emulation framework.
• Develop and maintain drivers for emulation hardware interfaces.
• Integrate vehicle component simulations with hardware emulation.
• Create test plans, automation scripts, and procedures to validate emulation vs flight hardware.
• Debug issues at software-hardware interfaces and resolve discrepancies.
