Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a skilled embedded software engineer to bridge vehicle simulations and flight hardware. You will build a high-fidelity emulation environment, develop drivers, and integrate simulations with the emulation platform for robust early-stage testing of TeraWave products.

The role requires C/C++ and Python expertise, RTOS knowledge, and strong communication within a collaborative, safety-focused culture. US citizenship or equivalent work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of software development experience for embedded systems, simulation, or hardware emulation/testing.
• Proficient in C / C++ development.
• Skilled in Python or a similar scripting language for test automation and data analysis.
• Experience with real-time operating systems and embedded control systems, including APIs and device drivers.
• Solid understanding of computer architecture (CPU, memory, buses, interrupts).
• Familiarity with Ethernet, Spacewire, CAN, I2C, SPI, or UART.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team-oriented and inclusive.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software framework for high-fidelity real-time hardware emulation.
• Develop, test, and maintain emulation device drivers for interfaces.
• Integrate vehicle simulations with the hardware emulation platform.
• Create test plans, automation scripts, and procedures to validate emulation against flight hardware.
• Debug complex software-hardware interface issues and resolve discrepancies.
