Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Flight Software Engineer III to design, develop, test, and deploy embedded flight software for spacecraft and launch-vehicle avionics. You will work with a mission-driven team to ensure safety, reliability, and performance for national security missions.

Required: 5+ years in embedded software, C/C++ proficiency, RTOS experience, and an active TS/SCI clearance. Up to 20% travel and relocation assistance are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded/real-time systems.
• Working knowledge of RTOS (Yocto Linux, VxWorks, RTEMS, FreeRTOS or similar).
• Familiarity with UART, SPI, I2C, TCP/IP communication protocols.
• Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test real-time embedded flight software for spacecraft and launch-vehicle avionics.
• Collaborate with systems, avionics, GN&C, and test engineers to translate requirements into flight-quality code.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements through deployment.
• Debug and troubleshoot in SIL and HIL test environments.
• Support software configuration management with Git.
• Contribute to process improvements and mentor junior team members.
