Job summary

PrattWhitney is seeking an experienced engineer to architect and develop embedded real-time software within complex hardware–firmware systems. The role involves cross-disciplinary collaboration to refine concepts, improve testability, and ensure measurable quality across the product lifecycle.

The candidate will mentor junior staff, contribute to proposals and design reviews, and collaborate on access and security processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Embedded C++, RTOS, and software architecture.
• Active and transferable Secret security clearance.
• Knowledge of rate-monotonic theory and firmware/hardware integration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement, test and debug embedded real-time software.
• Work with cross-disciplinary team to refine product concepts and ensure quality.
• Teach, coach and mentor less experienced staff.
• Contribute to proposals and design reviews.
• Obtain program access as required.
