Job summary

Prattwhitney is seeking a Principal Embedded Real-Time Software Developer/Integrator at RTX’s campus in Tucson, AZ. This role requires expertise in embedded real-time software and extensive experience collaborating within an Integrated Product Team.

Applicants should have a minimum of 8 years of experience and be proficient in RTOS and embedded software security. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $107,500 – $204,500, alongside benefits like health insurance and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience and a STEM degree or equivalent.
• Experience in at least two of the following: Embedded C++ Software, Embedded Software Security, Software Architecture Design and Implementation.
• Proficiency with embedded Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks, Linux, etc.
• Experience integrating hardware, firmware, and software into complex systems.
• Active, transferrable U.S. Secret security clearance required prior to start.
• Preferred: familiarity with rate-monotonic theory, layered architectural principles, electrical schematics, firmware source (VHDL/Verilog), assembly language, lab instrumentation, device drivers, and leadership of engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement, test, debug, and deploy integrated embedded real-time software.
• Work within a cross-discipline Integrated Product Team (IPT) to refine product concepts.
• Teach, coach, and mentor less experienced staff.
• Contribute to proposals, preliminary and critical design reviews.
• Obtain program access and maintain security clearance requirements.
