Job summary

RTX is seeking to fill embedded software roles within the Real-Time Embedded Systems discipline of Pratt & Whitney. You will contribute to the software architecture and low-level design for engine control and diagnostic software, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and compliance.

The role emphasizes eligibility for a U.S.-based on-site position, with opportunities to work with state-of-the-art embedded technologies and participate in airworthiness compliance efforts

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer or Electrical Engineering or STEM field, enrolled through internship/session.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Demonstrated software programming experience in C, C++, Python.
• Understanding of real-time embedded software concepts (scheduling, concurrency).
• Experience with real-time OS and multi-core processors.
• Familiarity with SPI, MIL-STD-1394/1553, or Ethernet stacks.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and software.
• Configuration Management using JIRA and Git.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to requirements definition, software architecture, and low-level design for embedded software in C.
• Assist development to support airworthiness compliance (MIL-STD-516 and DO-178).
• Support hardware/software integration and debugging on target platforms using logic analyzers, emulators, and hardware test benches.
• Collaborate with system architects and cross-functional engineering teams; communicate status, risks, and mitigation plans.
