Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design real‑time control software for robotic workcells. You will architect, develop, and deploy embedded systems that coordinate complex robotic manipulation tasks in automated workcells.

You will lead the development of control algorithms, integrate with hardware interfaces, and drive performance optimizations for embedded platforms. The role includes mentoring engineers and participating in on‑call rotations to ensure production

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 4+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
• Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• Experience defining cross‑service API contracts (protobuf, gRPC, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement real‑time embedded control software for robotic workcells, including motion controllers and sensor integration modules.
• Lead the development of control algorithms and embedded software components within the robot controls architecture.
• Partner with hardware teams to define control interfaces and optimize software performance for embedded platforms.
• Mentor team members on embedded systems best practices and real‑time programming techniques.
