Job summary

HID Global seeks a Senior Firmware Engineer to join its Cypress, CA team, driving development of real-time embedded systems and robust communications drivers for high-reliability products. You will work on networking, protocols, and porting software across platforms within a global security solutions leader.

The role requires deep C/C++ expertise, embedded Linux experience, and familiarity with RTOS, distributed systems, and modern development tools in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of professional experience in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with Embedded Linux and microcontroller RTOS.
• Experience with distributed systems and network-based protocols.
• Familiarity with VS and Eclipse development environments.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, RS-232/485, SSL/TLS, XML/JSON and REST.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance features for real-time embedded systems.
• Develop communications protocol drivers for embedded and third-party products.
• Enhance network communication mechanisms.
• Port software to new embedded hardware/software platforms.
• Design and implement software development and test tools.
